APEX'I Filter

Just wondering if the new cone shaped Apex'i filter is really worth paying an extra 70 bucks for. My intake is fine, saw the filter and began feeling tempted to get it.

HMM... so i guess this means use the non-functional search engine? Im sure one of you happy Apexi filter owners is just dying to tell me how much extra horsepower i'll gain by simply replacing my Injen filter.

From my experiences they are the best filter out there. It's a dry filter so that means it won't get oil on you MAS or MAF. That's a plus.

You'll get 1-3 hp i think by switching to that filter.

probably don't want it. i have it on my car, and i did not really notice any gains. but then of course, it is only 1-3 hp, and my butt dyno can not tell if faster or not. also the 5th gen max's have crappy mafs, and in some cases the extra "funel" power the filter produces can cause your mafs to burn out. emax01 had this happen to him 4 times in a rom, and as soon as he put a k&n filter back on he had no more problems. just something to think about!

I have had the Apexi filter on for around 9000 miles with no problems. It is a good filter, but I honestly don't know if it is worth that much more over the K&N.

I hope you don't have any fittment issues w/ the injen. I replaced my original injen filter w/ a K&N that was 1" larger in diameter both top and bottom and it was a ***** to fit; but it does feel better than the original one. The apexi filter is huge, probably bigger than the one I just installed.

RR-3001 through RR-3003. i dont think the apexi is huge by any means, i thought it was kind of small. blubyu2k2 has or had one and it smaller than my rr-3003 and ru-2820.

I think I'm going to replace my K&N with a Holley Power Shot filter. The oil used is MAF safe and is guaranteed not to damage any intake sensors.
