Can anyone tell me if I switch my '02 MAXIMA HID's to the regular headlights do they actually look different? Can people tell I don't have the HID's installed? Do the regular hedlights look significantly different than the HID's? Because I am sick of having them stolen for the gazillionth time.... and if these damn bastards know what they are doing, maybe they will realize I don't have HID's if i have the regular lights put in... or will they still end up stealing my headlights, thinkin I have HID's? Any suggestions?

 

You can easily tell a difference, when there on, and when there off. They won't be mistaken for HID's.

$250 for both of my HID's? Sorry... that's too little... I've spent (actually my insurance company) close to $10,000 for painting my hood twice, repairing and painting the fender once, replacing the hood completely and putting in 4 HID's over three separate incidents within a month and a half.... talk about increase in premiums!!! not to mention that my insurance company probably wants to investigate me or something...

 

I am talking about if the actual physical housing of the headlight looks different between HID' and regular headlights. I know HID lite looks different than regular headlight lite....

they'd have to be pretty stupid to mistake them for hid's.

no i don't got aftermarket alarm. I don't think it matters for the HID's.... they only need 30 secs. I was thinking of getting a pager, but by the time it goes off and I get my shotgun and run to my car, I'm sure it's too late.... besides, I don't think i can carry a shotgun around in queens....

Stay with HID'S and hook up a surveillance camera for $150 .. Thats what I did, youll be set. This way you can watch your baby while you rest. You will sleep much better, this is a fact.

 

Its kinda a waste in FL bro.....your Floridian residents are too stupid to worry bout them stealin ur HIDs...they probably wouldn't know how to steal em and if they figured it out, they wouldn't know what to do with em afterwards....

 

Oh believe me dude, Alot of people down here steal Hid's, But not only from maxima's, Bimmers, Mercedes, etc.. Also they broke into a car not to long ago by where i live so im looking out.. What you really gotta hide down here is a system and tv's cause theyll really come after you for those. Now it may not be as bad as NY but you still gotta lookout..

Oh and dude, go park your car down here in downtown and I will guarantee the car will not be there after 30 minutes..

FL is a joke compared to NYC! I've been down to Miami, drove around there when I went to Ft Lauderdale...have you been up to NYC to see REAL crime??

 

Im not trying to compare which state is worst, Im just basically stating that florida residents aren't as dumb as you think.

And im not suggesting for you to be worried if you come down to florida. And yes I agree theyre might be more crime in N.Y but Miami has its bad parts too just like any other state would probably have.


Also, Ft lauderdale is a very friendly city, so im sure you didnt see much. And No i have never been to NYC,and if I do decide to go one day, I'll probably fly there to avoid taking my max.

 

the only part of Miami I went to when I was down there was Biscayne Blvd, to see the Christmas tree that came from Jersey, which WE NEW YORKERS SHOULD'VE HAD!!!!

how does FL get a better tree than us considering u'll never see snow????

anyway, when I went to biscayne to take photos of the tree, I was driving around the local blocks looking for free parking, all I heard blasting was spanish music...made me think I was in Spanish Harlem (part of NYC)...that was ghetto to me.... But in so far as crime and being nervous, I wasn't concerned in the least...mad cops around and it felt like nothing compared to NYC

 

I have no clue on why we would get a better christmas tree, But i think thats that huge christmas tree thats down here every year. Never seen it though, im not too much into christmas. But yea we'll never see snow down here, and i would like to visit new york just to see snow for my first time. Ill tell you one thing about Miami, There are alot of wannabee's that think theyre ghetto, and its mad funny. Youll have a blast down here just laughing at people. If you have paperview try to watch Ghetto brawls which was filmed down here in the worst parts of miami. (even master p comes out almost getting into a fight. lol) Its really crazy dude.
