I didnt know AEM made a CAI for the maxima. If they do its probably a true CAI unlike the Injen. The AEM probably gives better gains, but the Injen most likely looks better.

i jus' checked' AEM's website and CAI's they have listed for the VQ35's are the altima and 350Z. now, depending on the layout of the engine of both these cars, it may, or may not fit for the maxima 2k2. but there's nothing listed for a 2k1 or 2k. hope that helps!

n1cK!

The AEM will not fit.

I've been noticing that several people have stated the a Y-Pipe will add very little HP to the 5th gens. Something about only removing 1 pre-cat in the 2K2/2K3. I think it removes 2 in the 2K/2K1. Can anyone confirm this? Also, how much of a HP increase can you expect to see with just the Y-Pipe? How much with just the injen?

Thanks.

I've had the Injen, Frankencar, and Ghetto air box. The injen definitely looks the best, but the GAB performs the best.

The Y-pipe for the 2002-2003 does not remove any precats. The 2000-2001 Y-pipe does. The Y-pipe alone probably yeilds minimal gains. You'll need an intake to see the full effect. With a Y, B, Cat, exhaust, and CAI, I gained about 15 HP total
