It's not irony, it's pecking order. All we're doing is placing cars in our order of like/dislike... for me that includes stuff like "can it carry me, the wife, 2 kids, and enough stuff for a week at the beach." Everyone has his own list

 

Yes...just like the Audi owners...and we're poking fun at them for doing so...while we're doing the same thing with Mustangs...

Maximas suck

 

Maximas are reliable, sedans which equals out to comfort, powerful and good looking.
Although I have to say mustangs are faster, they are heaps and coupes( I way buy a sedan over a coupe almost 100% of the time).
Plus Audi drivers most likely did exactly what they said: I doubt they bought TTs for speed.

Ok........im talking about cobras here....

1.Why would you want a car to drive to work every day that gets 8 miles per gallon (my friend has a 03')?

2.Yes it would be fun for a while but whats the use for a 2 seater later in life...like college, family, retirement?

3.How can you compare a Maxima vs. a Cobra?

4.For the money you can go buy a faster car stock or on that handles better?...used Z06 M3 STI,ect.

5.Why would you want to pay 34k+ for a Ford that will get horrible resale value in a couple years?

6.Why would you want to pay the horrible insurance cost for it?

..........O and by the way for the dude what said his sisters cobra ran a 11.6 for only 2 thousands dollars.....

A. all the mods you said are a whole lot ever the 2 thousand mark (tires pulley exhause chips filter xpipe, and install)

B. and my grandma could mod that car to run a 11.6 with that setup..i wont be impressed until you get into the low 10s with the potential it has stock.


.........Yes i might sound mean....but whats the big deal with a cobra?....it took they the 5.0 engine, 4.6 n/a, and finally the 4.6 s/c to finally BEAT THE SS!

No...the point, as noted above, is:

In the actual Audi forum thread, the Audi owners are bashing Maximas...and we're making fun of them for doing so...while in the Mustang thread, we're doing pretty much the same thing vs. Mustangs...but that's okay, because now WE'RE doing the bashing...

I also included the Mustang link in the originating post. It's when I noticed THAT thread I realized we're doing the exact same thing for which we're spanking the Audi owners.

 

I think it is very sweet looking. but when i did some research i was suprised that they only had 180 horsepower unless you spend the extra $8,000 (total 39,000!!) and get the quattro that has 225. waste of a good lookin car

 

All you need to do wit the 180hp version is a chip to get it over 200hp. Add the intake/exhaust and have even more. Add the aftermarket turbo.. and watch out!

The thing I love about V-dubs is that with an APR chip you can switch between 4-different programs, on the fly even, all through the cruise control stalk.

OMG...I soooOOOO wish I had that. Sometimes you feel like MAX boost, sometimes you don't.

 

Just a note. Modding a na car and a turbo car might as well be two totally different things. The 1.8 180hp motor on the Audi is so detuned it's almost funny. In Europe, they have over 200hp stock. The ONLY reason they detuned that engine is to keep it from making the same hp as the 2.8 V6 in the A6. If I'm not mistaken, there isn't a chip available that will net you 45hp on na maxima. Oh right, there is NO chip available for the 5-gen+ maximas period!

 

Not to flame or sound like an a$$, but if you guys like the A4's sooo much, why buy a maxima???? the A4 is practically the same price new...

 

Who is stating they like the A4? We are talking about the Audi TT. Plus the A4 is not even close to having the same interior room of a maxima. You would have to move up to the A6(which is NOT the same price as a maxima)

 

my badd.....as much as I like the idea of a german car, I'd have to decline on an Audi.....I've had conversations at length with my mechanic and all he ever says about VW's and Audis are that they are known quite well in the auto world as "Hitler's revenge", meaning the reliability is not quite there...

Maybe if you get dealer raped on a fully loaded Max, but I paid $23,xxx and I'm pretty sure any Audi is going to top $30K.

Anyways, I think the last gen A4 could be fixed up right and look HOT, but the new A4 isn't even worth messing with. It will always be RUssGLY.

S6 , but that's a $40K+ car. In my wet dreams maybe.
