Harlan Shiftlight

Anyone bought this from harlan engineering web site? I plased my order Monday and paid with PayPal. I understand they build them for order and they say it takes up to 5 day. However, I emaild them for an ETA twice and never got an answer.
How long did it take for you to receive your unit? Do you think I should report this to my credut card already?

I think you may be jumping the gun on calling the cc company. I know others on the .Org have ordered from them and receieved the shift light.

How much did you pay? I'm looking to get one myself.

Remember he does this as a side job. So he only make them in his spare time. I bought mines off another org member. But other ppl who have ordered the Harlan have waited sometimes up to 1 month..

Yes...

Give him time. Dont be impatient. He does this as a side line thing and does build to order. If he is real busy (when I got mine) he does not reply to email...it just shows up. Dont worry...sit back and enjoy a cold one!

Thanks guys. i paid $55 w/ shipping. I also asked to switch the 6 LED pod with one 5mm red wide angle LED in conjunction with a resistor. I will drill a hole in the plastic trim below the gauge pot, so only a small LED is visabe from outside to give it more of a "factory" look. I will post pictures once I have everything done. But meanwhile, you can wee what I mean here: http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/int...y_m_coupe.html

Will that be enough light to see it during the day? I see where you're going...this shift light is huge. On the website they show people mounting them in the A/C vents. I like your idea, but I wonder if it will be enough light?

Please post a write up if you can (taking apart the cluster too).

Thanks!

I was wandering about the light being low during the day. but, I know my self. even slight light source bothers me. I live in the city and don't wear a seat belt most of the times and the seatbelt sign was bothering be so much that I had to cut the wire. Also wide angle LED are bright enought to see during the day. I just have to make sure i mount the light in the place my eyes can easily catch.
