I like red on all color Maximas. Some people like Gold or Silver. Some even like Black. My thoughts are that If I paint them it is to get noticed. Red will get noticed.

I'm with blu, black or silver.

I don't know I always thought you paint them so you don't get noticed for all the rust on the stockers. Unless you got a Big Brake package why would you want them noticed?

It all depends on the look you want. Look at PMAS76's Max or my Max and you will see what red looks like on a dark color Max. I don't think it looks 'ricey' at all.
Since you said you are doing it this weekend, sounds like you are going to buy the paint. I hope you are getting a good enamel paint like Foliatec or G2... otherwise, spray paint will fade quicker and look bad.

Some may say that your grille is rice.
Painted calipers - not rice. Otherwise Ferraris, Porsches, Vipers... hmmm... not rice there.

but red calipers on a 4 door luxury sports car is a no go...sorry
OUMAX... before you put the Stillen RSB on, paint it a platinum/silver color and clearcoat it! Look at my homepage... my Stillen RSB is quite noticeable underneath because I painted it!
The Foliatec has to be ordered from one of the online dealers... like custom maxima, etc.

Paint them whatever color YOU like. If we all listened to everybody here, all of our cars would look exactly the same.
My Max is Sherwood Green, and I went with red on the calipers. I think it looks great, and I've had more than a few compliments from other Maxima enthusiasts. Many of them thought it would look ricey too... until they saw them.
Also... don't get fooled into thinking that you need to spend $50 on Folia-tec, or some other "specialty" paint. You can use any high-temperature or "caliper" spray paint on them. As long as you do a few coats, it will not fade, and the color will be plenty deep and have a nice shine to it.
Bottom line is this: do what YOU like, and have fun with YOUR car.
