Re: Trim differences

If you are just talking about bone stock of each trim, here are the differences as far as I know. Remember, these are for 2000 Maximas. Things changed later in the 2000 model year and in the 2001 model year. But here you go for 2000...

GXE:
- Lowest-priced model
- Floaty ride/suspension
- 15" wheels
- No foglights
- No 'GXE' badge on the trunk
- Different quality cloth interior
- Chrome door handles
- Chrome front grille trim
- Single-DIN car stereo w/pocket
- 4-speed automatic transmission

SE:
- 'Sports Edition'
- Stiffer, sports-tuned suspension
- Titanium-style gauges
- 16" wheels
- Foglights
- Higher-quality cloth interior
- Leather-wrapped steering wheel & shifter
- Rear spoiler
- Body-colored door handles
- No chrome trim around the front grille
- Double-DIN car stereo
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Chrome exhaust tip finisher
- Smoked tail-lights

GLE:
- 'Luxury' edition
- Floaty ride/suspension
- 16" wheels
- Foglights
- Leather interior
- No rear spoiler
- Chrome door handles
- Chrome trim around front grille
- Double-DIN BOSE car stereo
- 4-speed automatic transmission
- Chrome exhaust tip finisher
- Many other nice extras...

All:
- 3.0 liter 222HP V6
- CARS LIKE IT: 0

So why is it, then, that my g/f's 2k GXE has 16" rims and tires (STOCK) on her car, then?

She has the P215/55HR16 w/16”x6.5” Wheels

I guess it came as an option on the GXE in 2k, but the tires are still mounted on the ugly 16" rims like this:

if you get the GXE 5spd manual, it comes with 15" hubbies... if you get the automatic, it comes with 16" wheels

OK... one question, though.

If it is stated that the 2000 GXE came with 15" rims and tires... or 16" for automatic...

does that mean that the same type of rims come in TWO sizes? I find it hard to believe that 16" rims would have 15" tires (or vice versa).

not kidding... trying to clarify something.

if it was stated that the stock GXE came with 15" rims and tires... which my g/f's stock GXE came with 16" rims and tires... then someone else said that it had 15" on manual and 16" on auto... I just want to clarify, man.

OK, just from the way I read your other post it looked like mounting 15's on 16's, etc.

Don't mind me...Monday a.m...

So what is correct here?

01SE02SER said that the 2000 GXE came stock with 15" rims/tires

I stated that my g/f's stock 2000 GXE came with 16" rims/tires

jjs stated that it wasn't 'bone' stock and had a link to where it said
GXE: 205/65R15 Tires w/15”x6” Wheels
GXE(opt.): P215/55HR16 w/16”x6.5” Wheels

Now... this is my question, then.
The GXE came with the boring aluminum rims that were circular with the various holes (not like the SE 'spoke' style)... IF they came with this option, does that mean that there are TWO sizes of the same style of rims?
