ABS light

Has anyone had there ABS light come on? My 2000 Maxima's ABS came on for several hours and hasn't came on since. My car has around 58,000 miles and I haven't replaced the brakes. Any suggestions. Thanks

Was it wet when this happened? If one of the sensors got wet before the brakes warmed up, the light will come on. Once the sensor dries, the light turns off, but you have to turn the engine off to cycle it.

This happened to me after having the car only a week. Called one dealer and wanted $78 just to pull the code. Called a second and they asked me what I just asked you (it was raining). I pulled over and turned the engine off. Guess what? That was it.

Hope this is your problem.

Yes it was wet it stayed on for a half a day or so. I tried turning car off and also disconecting the - battery lead that did not help. after several hours light went off and hasn't been on since, that was over a week ago. Thanks
