WATS UP EVERYONE,
IM NEW TO THE SITE JUST BOUGHT MY 03 MAX A MONTH AGO AND LOVIN IT.
HAVENT REALLY DONE ANYTHIN 2 THE CAR YET EXCEPT FOR 2 INFINITY 10 SUBS WIT A 1000w KENWOOD AMP AND CLEAR BUMPER LIGHTS AND TINT. ONE THING I WAS LOOKING FOR (FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE) WAS SOMEONE WHO COULD CHANGE THE TAILLIGHTS OF MY MAX. PRETTY HARD CONSIDERING THE TAILLIGHTS ARE SEALED LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, BUT I WENT TO THEM AND ASKED THEM IF THEY COULD. THEY SAID SURE BUT I HAD 2 COME UP WITH SOME PICTURE TO SHOW THEM WHAT I WANTED EXACTLY, IM PRETTY GOOD WIT CHANGIN IMAGES DIGITALY SO I WENT AND WORKED ON A PIC OF THE 03 TAILLIGHTS AND CAME UP WIT A CLEAR LENS AND CARBON LENS TAILLIGHTS. I WILL BE GETTING THEM DONE IN 2 WEEKS AND WILL POST THE PIC OF MY CAR WHEN ITS INSTALLED BUT FOR NOW HER IS A PIC OF THE 2 DIGITALLY MODIFIED PICS, MAYBE WITH ENOUGH PEOPLE SAYING THEY WANT IT , IT CAN BE MASS-PRODUCED OR SOMETHING I DUNNO
ANYWAY LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK, THE COLOR OF MY CAR IS THAT CHARCOAL GREY SO IM GOIN 4 THE CARBON LENS

The lights look pretty good, although im pretty sure there illegal, you need some red somewhere on them, or your gonna hassled.

okok i'll go easy on the caps, umm in a way thier illegal but then they arent, the light thats gonna be used is not a bulb but led, its clear when its off but when on thier bright a$$ red like on the yamaha R1s its cool lookin hopefully it will come out right

All I can (RICE!) say is, those (RICE!) tail lights would not only be (RICE!) glaringly ILLEGAL, but would be (RICE!) very noticeable by law enforcement.

Now pull over and get your rice ticket

We must think alike. Based upon his description of his car, I would only place it at RICECON 1 with these taillights.

 

Well, I have news for you... you can say "but look, officer, there is a red bulb in there"... and he'll say "well, would you look at that... here's your ticket, have a nice day".

Then you'll say "but your honor, I have a red bulb in there" and the judge will say "are you in compliance with federal regulation? (you know... the one that requires RED lenses to the rear)"... and you'll stand there an drool as he taps the gavel and says "NEXT"... and the bailiff says "Please make your way over to the court clerk... we accept checks or cash, thank you".

I think it is not only the law for the them to light up red, but (and i am not sure)I think you also need to have red reflectors on the back of your car. On the Max they are in the tail light in between the red and orange lenses. So removing all of the red still may be ilegal. More power to you if they are fine b/c I think they will look incredible! If anything these tail-lights should be only used for show purposes only and not for public use on highways etc.

 

Is there any way the person could just get the orange piece out of there and keep the red? If so, I am interested.

 

Cha-ching! I know the new Lexus RX330 has lights like those, but they also have a red refletor integrated into the bumper. If we use clear tails, we lose our red reflectors.

Uhm, the only way I could see you getting away with these is if you wire a seperate switch that turns on the tailights without the headlights being on, that way the red bulb would at least make it look like there is a red reflector in your tails. Or I guess if you just left your lights on at all times, but I wouldn't really wanna do that personally.

 

You will get pulled over bt the Rice police. or the Real police.... You lose either way !

 

if u put LED for your turn signal ... your blinkers are gonna be faster

 

yes they will because they draw less power and the car will think you have a blown bulb , so you will get that ricer blinking effect. I know because I spent almost a 100 bucks to replace all my rear bulbs with LEDS and found out the hard way ....

NO its not the same. Ill keep my body color tails until something in a smoked color comes available.

 

It's the same... the 2k/2k1 SE tails have just the red top and white bottom.

00-01 SE tails are carbon fiber almost black....that chop is a light smoke. There is no arguement I know what the 00-01 tails look like and I dont prefer them on my color so I got some gxe tails and painted body color

 

I don't know if you guys remember but I actually did this about a month ago and had Playero post the pics for me, maybe someone who can search can post the thread. Maximazero's 3rd & 6th picture I just completed on yesterday, all I have to do is re-seal it. I have 4 different versions so that you guys can tell me which one looks the best. I will e-mail someone who can post pics on tomorrow, any takers? Why can't I post pics myself?

Clear taillights are hideous, I thought they were already outlawed? Anyway, they look very ugly(clear taillights in general)and hinder visability.
