Nearing end of Warrenty, what should I do?

I want to take it into my trusted dealer before the warrenty runs out (34,500 right now, runs out at 36,000)

The rotors have recently been replaced, it has new tires (Michelin Pilot Sports) and a strange plastic-sounding rattle that no mechanic has been able to find.

I want to find anything that can be fixed by warrenty before it runs out... is there anything I should have them specifically look for?

ALSO is it worth getting an extended warrenty? Knowing the rotors might go again or the plastic rattling might bite me in the a**...

Just have them look for things that have been discussed around here, or things you just want fixed (i.e. door wind noise, hood flutter, etc.). Thing is, if nothing is wrong, they won't have anything to fix.

Also, as far as the extended warranty goes, I am not sure if any actually cover rotors (they are not even covered under Nissan warranty if that TSB had not come out). If that is your main concern, read ALL fine print.

extended warranties doesnt cover everything... i have one and it doesnt cover rattles, wind noise, radio, suspension, bulbs and brakes and a bunch of other stuff...
I know this because I tried to get the rattles in my car fixed but they said its not covered under the extended warranty and sure enough, they were right.. i pulled out the extended warr. brochure and it says it on the fine print what is not covered.

I'm in the same boat

My AE has 34,700 on it and I dropped it off today. I said that the tranny was feeling funny after the flush they did last week. I also have a stitch that has popped loose on the drivers seat that they are looking at. All my BOSE speakers suddenly stopped working and might need to be replaced... and the weather stripping around the windshield has come loose on the passenger side. and believe me, more is to come before it is out of warranty.....

Try to see if the rattle is coming from the sunroof control panel area. Hold that up and see if it still rattles; I have one there that took me months to find.

I'll try the roof thing... I've also noticed a LOT of weather stripping is coming off of the doors and windows for no good reason

just be careful when you bring your car in for warranty work as sometimes the dealers do more harm than good, and then your warranty is expired. I would only bring it in for real problems. extended warranties are usually not worth it, especially if you take care of your car.
