Spring Install Question

When installing springs, did you guys insulate the top of the coil w/ rubber like the bottom. I was told that this is sometomes done on Maximas and that's how mine were installed; but when it's humid or raining out it feels like my spring/strut assembly is moving around, causing a lot of clunking.

Same here, I just assumed that it was my shock gone bad. Did you upgrade springs on stock shocks?

I didn't insulate the top of the spring like I did to the bottom and mine don't clunk. Maybe they springs aren't sitting right on your strut.

Spring isloators should go on the bottom coil and the second coil down from the top.

The strut bearings keep the assembly rotating freely. If it was damaged or installed incorreclty your spring would bind and make noises as you turned your steering wheel.
