i'm sure that many of you have read this and it befuddles me. Edmunds.com was also the same group of people that preferred the altima over the maxima (because it was just as fast according to their tests - 14.9 for both manuals). yet, in this article they say the following:
"At top speed on the freeway, it is impossible to distinguish the Maxima from a Lexus."
i've been in many lexuses from the RX to the LS. the only similarity between the maxima and a lexus is the floatiness that both cars exhibit. this is ok with lexus because even though the ride is floaty, it is ultra smooth. maxima's shocks are underdampened. ALL lexuses are WAAAY quieter than the maxima at speed.

Hey, don't argue with it!! Articles like that may convince people to look at and buy used Max's, so in effect it may help sagging resale values!!

"Honey, I love you...."
half hour later...
"I could have done better with Amy"...

I wasnt sure about the max when i was shopping.. but a 80mph highway test drive sold me.. I could hold a quiet conversation without talking over road noise. So, yes... its like a GS. EXCEPT in the rain.. the rear wells are loud with rain. If the max had been as quiet at 5mph in parking lots and uneven roads, it would have been much better :/
