I'm looking for an old forum about tire size.....had a comparison about the "lesser evil" on stock rims....235/45-17 vs. 225/45/17. The thread discussed the width of the 235 vs. the lower load rating of the 225/45. Seeing as my Nitto 450's need to be replaced ASAP (HTR will be my tire of choice), I want to see the thread again to make sure that I make the right decision (yes, i overthink things). much appreciated.

Check the FAQs for a detailed discussion of the pros and cons of running 235/45R17s on your OEM rims.

Load ratings vary by tire manufacturer. HTR+ tires in 225/45R17 carry a load rating of 90. That should be fine for your Maxima.

 

I appreciate the info. I checked the FAQ, but if memory serves there was a thread a while ago that gave a little more detail/discussion. That's the thread that I'm looking for. I can't search so it's a little difficult to find, but I'm hoping that someone that subscribed to it has a link. Thanks for the info though.
