Someone's got to put up pics of the install. Who has done it already? I am sure it would serve as a great reference.

I gotta tell you, UMD_MaxSE, it looks like a slam dunk to me. I haven't tried it, but I spec'd it out and it seems like it'd be really simple to do. Just undo the upper air inlet, remove the elbow from the underside of the air inlet and the silencer box, attach one end of the tubing to the air inlet connecter and clamp it down, take the tubing straight down to the bumper skirt, attach it to the skirt with a zip tie or two, and rock and roll!

Take a look for yourself and see if you agree with me.

Hehe...It sounds easy enough....I just started my new job and have been pretty busy with things. Plus it's cold outside....Once things settle down and it gets warmer, I will probably try it.

nah, I'm busy going through all the body kits & front lips (10 boxes)that I just received and getting them ready to ship out Monday morning to the customer.

as far as the setup.. you still don't get the venturi effect w/ the modded stock air box that you would with a Stillen or JWT intake

I suppose that's true, Phuong. But the offset is the fact that the Stillen and JTW intakes are not CAIs. The Air Silencer CAI is. So I guess the question becomes, what's more important . . . the venturi effect or cold air?

I would imagine this setup to be as good, if not better than a Pop-charger. Both this set up and the pop-charger are underhood intakes. Plus, the stock inlet seems to be positioned well to take in a good amount of air. I don't know how it would do against a real CAI though.

IMO, it'll be better than the Stillen intake or JWT Pop, but not as good as the CAI. Why? SCAI routes down to draw cooler air, but it's still in the engine compartment. CAI draws air outside the engine compartment (cuttin hole and routing pipe outside).
