Tein Questions...

Since my Teins from the group deal should be here soon (I hope ) I had some questions that haven't been covered so hopefully someone can help. My friend got his Accord lowered with Eibachs so some of my concerns are coming from his experience

1) Noise - The Accord with the Eibachs has a squeaky sound coming from the rear springs. He called Eibach and they sent him a rubber tube to put around them so the noise quiets down. Do Teins have this trouble? Or do they include a rubber sleve for the spring?

2) Heavy Trunk - Like myself, my buddy has got a lot of weight in his trunk due to the stereo system. When it is out of the car, it ride is surprisingly smooth but when it is in the car the ride is much rougher on bumps. It also drops the rear about a finger due to the weight. Do the Teins compress under about 125 lbs? Will the ride be rougher?

3) Bump Stops - I've heard people go back and forth about this...do you have to cut them or no?

Thanks!

If I ever wanted to return the car to stock, can the cut bump stops be replaced?

Oh, thanks for the quick reply!

Depends on how there cut. If you cut the top part off, then you need to replace them when you bring the car back to stock. (They wount hang correctly)

A better alternative to cutting your bump stops is just to buy the KYB strut bumpers. P/Nr's SB103 and SB108. They have shortened bump stops and work with any strut for both 4th gens and 5th gens. You can pick them up for as little as $10/each.

You need to cut at least 2/3rd's off the stock bump stops with a Tein drop. Otherwise you'll be riding on rubber bumpers, not your springs.

The reason your buddy's Accord rides like crap when his system is in his trunk is probably because he's bump stops are not short enough.

So these PN's are for driver and passenger side and will work on my 02 with tein and gr2 combo. Also will I need to order 2 or each part number one for the front and one for the rear. IM ordering as soon as I find this out and looks like what you just explained but I want to make sure before I order. Thanks again for your help

Those P/N's are for front and rear, you need two of each.

Thanks for the info. I called the Tire Rack with those part numbers and the guy said they are for the strut boots - not the bump stops. He said that the bump stops are a dealer item and are not included with the shock

Where can I buy the strut bumpers? Do I really need it?
