dampering vs coilovers clarify

I know TEIN is in development of a dampering kit that you can control in the car. My question are they like coilovers where you can drop the car? Can someone please clarify the difference.

Tein's have for some cars the ability to control dampening within the car. So you set it to soft, hard suspension.. But the height weight can't be control from incabin. That you set before hand

ok so then the dampering kit that they are making for our car is just for ride support not lowering like coilovers.

I received an email from them here it is:In regards to your question. Our Super Street dampers are consider a true
coilover system. It allows the user to have ride height adjustability's to
create balance and traction. Please contact anyone of our dealers to
purchase.

They are the SAME as JIC's, but have stepper motors connected to the adjustment ***** of the struts. That way you can control the ride harshness by activating the stepper motors to "turn" the adjustment ***** withOUT getting under the car and turning them by hand.

The "VS" in your statement doesn't apply.

Coilovers are an assembly that include the spring and the shock (or damper if you live across the pond). Dampening is the act of controlling the spring from bouncing up and down with a shock/damper/strut.

The dampening rate in Tein's "kit" as metnioned earlier is controlled electromechanically (is that word?) so that you can do it within the car and while moving, its just for convience and has nothign to do with performance.
