The Maxima is a great sports sedan, but the Maxima vs a BMW 530spt I gotta go with the 530spr if we are talking strickly sport sedan. The 530 may cost more to own but the handling is very rewarding more so than the Maxima. True the 540 is better than both of them and the M5 even better, but RWD vs FWD. RWD! However if price is an issue the Maxima is a great alternative.

The Lexus and G35 are more reliable and I haven't driven either for a prolonged period of time but I think the BMW has more of a sporty look in comparison to both of the japanese sedans. I would take either one of those if someone gave them to me though!

Are all 5 series Bimmers the same size? From what I heard, Bimmers are so so with reliability and repair bills are sky high. Although they have much than resale value than the Max, I'd rather drive my trustworthy Max than spending time in a Bimmer dealer's garage.

I couldn't agree more, the drive on BMW's is so rewarding. My personal experience with BMW's is my uncle's 99' 528i w/sport package and my friends 2002 BMW 330iw/sport package. Hell of a ride especially the 330i with the 255/35ZR18 Michelin Pilots rears, the handlind on the 330i with that particular package is wicked!!!!
