Big $$ = Big Hp, Small $$ = Small Hp
Big $$ = Big Hp, Small $$ = Small Hp
I've been reading the threads extensively researching worthwhile mods for my 2kMax. I am pretty new to the aftermarket scene but am very excited about it. What I've come to concluded is that the only "real" performance mod that makes me want to buy is the supercharger or nitrous . Granted, the SC costs 3k+ but I'd rather have a part that makes me say "Oh yeah, I can undisputedly feel the power increase", than adding multiple parts costing $200 - $500 each to add those unappreciable increases in HP (i.e. CAI, UDP, Y/B pipe, CAT back). If I'm gonna pay my hard earned money for a part, I want to say WITHOUT A DOUBT that it did something to my car than make a new noise or make me wonder "can I really feel any increase in my accelleration". I'm sure I'm not alone in this line of thinking.

No your not the only one that thinks that way, but paying an arm and a leg is what obviously drives us away from A S/C or a T/C. I have a 2003 Maxima with a Injen intake and A greddy cat back exhaust. And you right about wondering if my car actually is faster than when it was stock. But hey at least the car does sound faster.

I think your outlook on this is a little narrow minded. This could be because your a newbie and that your new into the sport. People on the ORG love there cars and love to mod them. Its not all about 1 thing, its the whole picture from looks, speed, handling, interior, sound. When u add a SC or TC there is alot u have to improve on your max to handle the incresed HP. Some of these things are brakes, various suspension parts and upgrades, tranny upgrades, oil cooler. Don't get me wrong, im not saying that your car with a TC or SC won't start with out these upgrades but to do it properly and more importantly safley, u need those upgrades. Those upgrades will cost u alot of money, but well worth it. I think once u read more on the ORG and start modding a little u will understand. Good luck and welcome to the ORG.
You'll definitely notice a difference with y-pipe and full exhaust cat-back. Your top-end will be soo much better. But your looking for the power then just go ahead and get a SC or Turbo. Trust me you won't regret it. And if you get a SC don't go with a the stock pulley cuz you'll be craving for more boost. Get nothing higher then a 3.33" pulley
