Man... you think they have the market share now... That is very nice. I wonder if that is close to the production version.

wow, that looks very nice. I can just see how it will look like in real life. Very edgy and stylish. Somewhat Maxima ( taillights ) and 3.2TL.

Guess I'm the only one who doesn't like it. It looks toooo smooth. Kinda got the "hotdog in a bun" look like the j20. I prefer a little less broad sweeping blah in my car. Thats why I like the max... has some nice lines rather than just smoooth curves everywhere. Someone said it looks kinda like a max, I'd say it looks more like a taurus, all bubbly. Note: of course this is all styling opinions, I'm sure it performs nicely, especially with the s/c.

What about the interior

I think the Camry has one of the worst interiors in its class. I would have to see the interior before considering a Camry. There are 2 things I swore I would never buy... a minivan or a Toyota.

I totally agree with you! I hate the current Camry inside and out.

Hehe....That is exactly what I say. I will never buy a minivan or a Toyota. The older guys I know all say that I will eventually buy a minivan, but I say it isn't going to happen.

I agree, Toyota interior sucks, I even hate my friends interior in his SC400, the ***** and dash seems so cheap to be a sport luxury vehicle.

I think the body sort of looks like an Oldmobile Aurora, at least from the rear shot.

2002 Maxima

Any idea's how different the 2002 maxima will look? Really dam annoying there arent any pics because its do out fairly shortly and I wanna know if its worth waiting. If it will e a big change then i'd wait. The round lights in the 2002 Altima look nice, much more classy.

I love the new Camry design. Very classy and elegant. And being a Toyota...no rattles like in Nissans! Yes!

Plus, I am especially impressed by those wheels shown in the rear quarter shot...see my sig pic below and you will know why.

Plus for you people who say you "hate" Camry's, why don't you drive own one first before you pass judgement. My family has had a 91 and 99 V6 Camrys and they are both excellent. Toyotas may look cheap inside, but the build quality is excellent and all the controls have a quality click to them.

2002 Camry

Wow..it looks A LOT better than the current one. Looks more like the Solara, but better. The interior better look good, because the current one really sucks. The pic of the front kinda looks like the new Q with Mercury Cougar lights. As for the rear, the shape kinda looks like the Volvo C70. Tail lights look like an Audi A4 or Chrysler 300M (funny how on the info page the US code name is 300N("The code number for the US model will be 300N...").

Overall, it's a pretty good design. I wonder if the price will change and what V6 engine will it have?

Well they did say 3.0L V6. So I would guess it will have Toyota's current VVTi 220hp 3.0L V6. But you never know...Toyota has 192hp, 200hp, 210hp, and 220hp versions of the same V6 engine right now in their car lineup.

As for the 4-cyl Camry, it will probably have the 165hp 2.4L I4 that was developed new for the Highlander SUV ("Camry wagon").

That must be the new Solara. I can't see them making the Camry so sporty. The main reason it sells so well is that it is boring and does not offend anyone. It looks like an Acura (TL ?) and a Solara combined. For those of you that don't like Toyotas, they may not look exciting but the reliability is unbeatable. My 92 Corolla snow car has 185k miles with 10k miles between oil changes and has never given me a problem. I'm hoping my Max will come close to the reliability of the Toyotas I've owned.

But the pic is a four door. Solara is two door. In either case, I hope Toyota builds that car! I would love for my next vehicle to be a sporty sedan from Toyota! As for Nissan, I like my Maxima, but it's been unreliable and build quality stinks (compared with the two Camrys my family has) so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the next Camry (I hope they resurrect the SE).

highly doubt....

the new camry will look like that, i agree with greggmax, the reason that the camry sells so well is that it has that dull, boring, not so expensive, but not so bad, common look and styling, if it turns out to look like the concept, i dont think that it will sell as much as the current camry, i really cant picture a women hauling here kids around in that, or it being a rental car. i wonder if the price of the camry will go up? and another thing, before i bought my max, a friend of my dad's said that i should buy a new camry instead of a used car (i was gonna get a used car, convinced parents to buy me a new car because new camrys are cheap, so i go to the dealer, found a black camry le v6, cloth seats, jbl cd/tape player, airbags, you know, the same as a gxe with c&c, it was $25.5 sticker price!! wtf?!?! cheaper my a**, it didn't even have alloy wheels! i guess the 4-cylinder is a better seller than the v6 camry, a see mostly 4-cylinders on the road.

I was very happy with my 91 Celica GTS...would still be driving it today if I didn't make a bad traffic decision

I've seen the Nissan dealer for problems more times in 6 months than I did in almost 10 years with my Toyota.

Say what you will about styling(and its not THAT bad) but Nissan cannot touch Toyota for reliablity and build quality...neither can Honda for that matter. I've owned all 3 of the big Jap car makers and Toyota wins hands down.

I driven my inlaw's '96 and '00. Nothing exciting about it. The controls looked like they came from a Corolla. Toyota = 0 excitement. (Minus the Supra of course) On the '96 the passenger seat broke completely after 6 months. The '96 also emits a lot of smoke from the tailpipe. Both are 4 cylinder.

I have 2 kids, which is why I have a 4 door sports sedan. If I had a 3rd, I think I would need something bigger.

I never said the Camry is more exciting, or even exciting as a Maxima. But, we have people here saying "Camry interior is crap" when they have never even owned one. Sure, there are Toyota and Nissan lemons, but I think overall Toyotas are better built than Nissans.

I don't mind if people say "I don't like the Camry because it's boring" since that is true. But saying that the Camry is inferior the Maxima as a whole is simply untrue. The Maxima is a good sporty sedan for people like us, but the Camry is a better family hauler because it has a smoother ride and is more reliable (well, in my opinion, since my Max hasn't been too reliable).

Yes...

The Maxima's taillight looks like it came from the Neon. Now the Altima. I wonder if all Nissans are going to be like that...hmmm...now all Volvos (except for the 40 series) look like the S80! Ewwwwww...
