I was washing my '03 SE and I noticed that very light pressure on the hood near the nose would produce an audible metallic "clunk". It clunks upon relase too. Seems the hood latch is not pulling the hood down tight enough against the rubber stops. Anyone ever try adjusting the latch? The mounting bolts/latch appear to be simply bolted to the bracket... i.e. no oblong holes to permit realignmnet.

 

There are three bolts that hold the hood latch into place: one on either side of the hood latch and one lower and in the middle of it. Loosen, lower, then tighten. You can also raise the hood bumpers located at the corners of the engine bay towards the headlamps. Hope this helps as it did for me.
