NJ thieves

Just got back from Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ and it got hit pretty hard today. There were at least 4 Maximas with their HIDs stolen. I was looking for a parking spot in my car with my girlfriend and I look to the left and there's a Maxima with it's lights ripped out, grill on the floor. Look over at my girlfriend and she's in complete shock (she's got a 2002 SE and this is her worst fear).

Drove around looking for a security guard I guess to just say what we saw. Finally found one after driving around the entire mall and guess where they were? Parked right in front of another Maxima with it's lights ripped out. Told the guard about the other car, ran in the mall real quick and when we came out we drove around the lot and security was in front of two other maximas with the police, both missing lights.

Definitely not a good thing to see. We're always worried about taking her car out b/c of this and this experience 5 minutes from our house doesn't help matters too much.

Dam those ***** ******!

I have a 2K and it would drive me nutz to worry about them all the time. At home, at a mall, ...is it that f'in easy to rip off? Makes you want to put in non HIDs in their place, problem is, I heard some of these low lives don't know the difference and are tearing those out too!

Yup, that's what my girlfriend wants to do, just take out her xenons and either sell them or put them away until this stealing HIDs blows over. Sucks to go out and have to worry about this going on. I've looked out the window about 19 times tonight, now I'm all paranoid. Bastards.

hey, it's not poor engineering on nissan part, it's just that easy to take off...think about, the latch of the hood is right over the grill, kick that sucker in, reach in and pull the latch, then they have access to take anything they want. of course, the headlights....
and the headlights have what three maybe 4 bolts on the harness, hhmmm let me say a plastic as well. Get a crowwbar and pop...all they need is the headlights, then cut off all the wires in one shot...If you want to scare them away...youe gonna hae to put an alarm on them like my friend...
He put strobes and air horns on them. as soon as you pop the hood, those suckas go off, attract all the attention in the world on one thief. I live in Newark,NJ and I know how to protect my car(my Maxima) I was thinking of putting those 2k2 HID headlights on, but too many thieves and not enough money to keep replacing that ****. so, I think I'm just gonna get the CATZ hid dual Low/High beam HID conversion with the AE CAarbon Fiber headleaghts....sIt would light up alot brighter and it would look just as nice.

Yeah I am scared as hell too! I live in NJ and just got my 2002 max a few weeks ago. I already have put in the viper 2-way alarm/auto starter. Hopefully that will be enough to make them pass over mine. Unlikely though, I am sure if they want them they will still get em! At least if i see my alarm going off i can go risk my life and try to kill whoever is taking them. I love my HIDs!

Well any way I have heard a few real bad stories from NJ. My alarm dealer told me that like 28 pairs were taken out of a parking deck in New Brunswick in one night and something like 55 maxes got hit at a dealership in north Jersey. Man thats scary!
