has anyone had there malfuntions im trying to find out if it is becuse my check engine came on and now when i start it wont let me rev over 2-3k if i do it would begin to stall out

 

same here, I'm in the same boat. I was told to disconnect the battery for a day and let teh computer reset itself...if not, then I need a new MAF sensor, if not then I need a new throttle, if not then, my max is gonna have to go to the river, Anyone heard of an insurance job....hmmmm
just kidding, i would never do that to my baby.

 

maf failures were pretty common on 2k2 and some 2k3. a few occured on 2k-2k1 but it occured on a much smaller scale. since the engine wont rev about 3k, im guessing the maf is bad. they do have a tsb if you under 36k miles, if not call dave b and replace the sensor yourself. it would take less than 5 mins.

do anyone know how much the sensor goes for at the dealers?

 

most dealers will try to sell you the tube and the sensor which ive seen go for anywhere from 500-700. you only need the sensor which you can get from dave b for somewhere around 100 last i heard, so im sure the dealer would charge a good bit more.
