My max is caput!!!

Alright here's what happened:

Going home from work yesterday and all of a sudden I had a loss of power while accelerating for a few seconds. I went around a turn and got this extremely annoying squealing sound from the front driver side wheel, so I stopped the car and then went again, in which case the sound went away (It sounded like a pebble got in between the rotor and pad). I pulled up to the driveway and looked under the car, nothing apparent. So I took it for a test drive and no problems. Later that night I went out again and it is taking forever to start, the SES light is on and it has a lack of power when accelerating (feels like the timing is getting retarded at about 3500 RPM). I dont think the squealing wheel is related but it is a weird coincidence. Have any of you had this problem?

Sucks man, I dunno, maybe a MAF? but prob not if you can still get the RPMs up... Looks like it's a trip to good old nissan service, everyone's favorate place to be.

Good luck with it

Have Nissan pull the stored MIL code. It doesn't sound like the two incidents are related, but sheet...you never know with those gremlins under the hood!

Let us know what it was. Good Luck.

The squeeling could have been the throwout bearing (if you have a manual tranny).

Alright the Results:

The SES light came on because of a faulty Camshaft Position Sensor. How the f does this go bad? As far as the squealing noise, it happened again yesterday on a patch of sand I drove over so it was definetly pebbles in between the pad and rotor, My new Michelin pilots have been throwing sh*t up like crazy so I guess Ill have to deal with it.

Got the TSB on the clutch for 2k2's built before October 1st, 2001 addressed yesterday. They did not want to cover changing the pressure plate and throwout bearing so I payed for it. As it turns out the old pressure plate did not look to bad (not alot of blueing) but it was definetly worth the risk since they had it all apart anyways.

Thanks for your input guys
