Hi there, I noticed in Ur sig that U've got the Aiwa mp3 unit. I did a search wondering if you had posted your expirience with it so far. but, found nothing.
If u done this already would U pls help me find the thread?

And if U haven't, would u pls list Ur likes and dislikes, if any. i.e. skipping, problems playing burned cds or any other.

Any info would be greatly apreciated. I've been looking for a unit like it for a while.

Thanks in advance.

It skips occasionally over hard bumps. I don't really play many normal CDs but they've seemed to work fine. The power output is nice. You'll definately want to upgrade your stock speakers. The only problem with MP3s I've had so far is off of CDRW but I've only tried one brand. CDRs play fine with good quality. Its kinda flashy so if you're conservative in your car styling you may not like it. The face plate attaches in a rather hoky manner.

Don't get me wrong though I love it. I'll probably be getting an A4 soon and I'll be moving it over into that car.

Stock stereo removal was quite a pain. I actually had to drill a few screws out. You'll definately want to get the wiring and antenna harness from crutchfield (or whoever). In a 5th gen I would HIGHLY recommend getting the GXE dash trim over thr crutchfield kit. The crutchfield kit gets the job done (barely) and looks cheap. You can't tell that at night though.

Lastly... the steering wheel remote. I don't have much to say. Haven't used it yet. I'm waiting for my A4 since its really designed to be installed only once.

Overall I would highly recommend buying it if you are semi budget conscious as I am. If you want to go all out the Kenwood might be a better quality. You can buy it on ebay like I did (it cost me ~$265 delivered) although it'd be better to buy it through crutchfield with a $25 discount (wiring harnesses and dash kit free) and free shipping. Use this link if you are going to buy it from crutchfield. No.. thats not my account number so I'm not trying to make myself money.

Let me know if I didn't answer any of your questions about it.

It's all about chipping that baby and using the turbo for what it really can do!
