Need Help ! Clutch Question

Hey Guys !

I have a 2002 6sp Max w/HLSD. My car was making a squeaking noise in the engine bay, when I stepped on the clutch. I took my car to the dealership and they said my pressure plate was faulty ! Since my car only has 29,000 miles on it, they would replace the pressure plate with no charge to me.

One of the nissan mechanics is a good friend of mine. (Since he always works on my car) He said that if I wanted to install an aftermarket clutch, he would put it in, with no charge. Since they are going to change the pressure plate.

The only problem is, Cluchmaster and ACT does not make the clutch for 3.5 maxs w/6speed.

I also checked for companies that made an aluminum fly-wheel for our cars, but they only have them availble for 3.0 maxs

Does anyone know of any other aftermarket clutch companies

Honestly, just stay with a stock clutch. It's holding SR20DEN's power, so I think it's beefy enough for most mods.

As for the flywheel, you might want to search for Jeff92se's posts on the Fidanza flywheel.

That is a known issue for the early 2K2's. I had mine done in February. Here is a link to the TSB.

Getting a new clutch for my 02 next tuesday. Was making a very mild groaning when easing throttle out of first from a stop, took it to the dealership and they said something about a bearing sticking. No idea what that means. Anyhow, they are setting me up with a rental car and slamming a new clutch in. Go figure.

My 2k2 6 spd recently started doing the same howl. My question is, can they fix it with the TSB all in one day, or does the car have to stay?

In 2 weeks or so I will be leaving my car at the dealership for them to fix my 3rd gear synchro since it grinds from 2-3 and 4-3 unless i shift like my mom. Should I just have it done than, or take it in for 1 day and have the pressure plate issue out the way?
