Do any of you know what the top speed of 2K Maxima is? Auto? 5 Speed?

 

Not sure if there is a limiter.. but I've had my speedo up to 135 on a long stretch coming out or PA into NJ...

The Type R that was driving with me can vouch for that..

 

If so what is the top speed.

 

I did 130 on I-5... didn't hit the limiter. Probably could've gone higher, but didn't want to.

 

I did 140 in my Altima and my friends VR6 00 Jetta can vouch for that. NISMO baby ...nice MAX

 

Only the 2K GXE 5 spd is limited to 130 MPH on the speedo due to H-rated tires from the factory. The rest are not, as far as I know.

 

OK SE AUTO WOULD DO 138 when it hits the limiter.. 2K 5spd Would do 143 at limiter. I had mine at 140 and have a pic at 138. but the pic is on a 35mm camera and I don't have a scanner.

it didn' take 120 seconds to get from 80-140 but My damn heart felt like it was gonna come out of my chest... I knew if I get pulled over they are not gonna ask me what I had for Breakfast this morning that I'm drive like this, they'll prolly take my keys and walk me to that place... Mingo if there was no speed limit and NO cops to worry about I'ld make your wish come true.. but lets not scratch that idea off just yet.... let me find the right moment and I just might try it again.. I felt pretty comfortable hitting 130... then came this thought... what happens if a cop stops me? Doh! Better slow down before I get my @$$ thrown in jail. If there weren't trees around, no traffic, clear view, and ok weather I would've kept on going. Too bad there aren't any OPEN, straight roads in NorCal.

Thats the one bad thing about the max (not really bad, but bad for speeding..) the fact that going 120 doesnt really feel like you are going 120.. Unless you're accelerating really hard, even with the CAI.. the car is still quiet and smooth... I have to constantly watch myself because I have a long open stretch of concrete highway which seldomly has traffic, and is 3 lanes wide... its too too easy to get haulin' on there..

Its not as bad as those 78-82 corollas, and Datsun B210 man.. Drove those thing back where I come from.. U go over 80 and the front tires come off the road. LIGHT VERY LIGHT..

the comp in ur car wont' let u go any faster. it's the speed limiter.

 

Is it a GXE? I think they are limited to 130 because they come with H-rated tires. SE and GLE probably top out at 140 or 150 becuase they come with V-rated tires.

 

137 is my fastest. Had to slow down for a slight curve cause the car was floating a bit. I did that on I-91 in Northern Vermont. Great road for it, very few cars and I've never seen a cop (knock on wood). Road and track reports the top speed for the 2K 5 speed to be 140. I believe it, but you better be going straight......

 

The Fastest is the SE 5spd with the 17" wheels. 143Top speed. The GLE and Auto SE is 138... I had mine at 140 but was catching up on traffic so I slowed down.. didn't try it after that.. it was a one time deal. haven't been brave enough since. Too meny cops around here, hide behind bushes and stuff, can't take the chance. Don't know about the GXE guys.

 

no i got an se 5 sp (collectors edition). (came with konigs and nitto nt555 which are rated to 168). Did nissan slap some se badges on my car????

btw- does anyone know the top speed of a 2000 jetta vr6. The fastest I've read is 134, but my roomate said his went 140. Last year he said it went 150(bs) He's obviously full of sh$$, but I'm curious to hear a real number...

i hit 134 on I-80 between salt lake city and nevada salt flats. in 5th gear closing in on redline real hard and then it was like hitting the brakes when the ECU cut me off. good thing - i was $hitting bricks anyway. did this before the intake mod, with 17"ers, at 4200 feet and prob 60 degrees f. it was smooth, but i don't think i need to test it again on the top end.

as if i didn't enough, about two weeks later i cleared 150 in my buddy's strosec 911. (that thing'll do 170 at least)

Nope. His is completely stock. He also tried to convince me that his h-rated tires were on a different speed rating system than the one the rest of the world uses, and his are rated to 150. The VR6 is a fast car but he's a jack@ss.

 

hehehehe i did 150 on my dad's R1, i don't think ill do that again, it wa scary, it shook like a ****, and i didnt have a steering damper either, and i was in a duck too

 

One time I was driving on a highway, and I kinda fell assleep. And when I woke up, the spedometer said 250. I can prove it because the Ford festiva was driving right next to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

One time I was racing some chic in a Toyota Echo, and I saw a cop on the other side of the street. So I slowed down, but she didn't!!! I bet she gets tickers all the time!!!

I only got a ticker once. I was going to take my karate lessons and I was late. I had to rush because if I am late, the sensei kicks my ***** because I have no disicipline!!! And some cop stops me and says, "I'm only gonna give you a warning!" So I got a parking ticker.
