Fuel Injector Cleaning Recommendations

Well, I've hit the 30,000 mile mark in my 02 Max and am starting to look to have the fuel injectors (and system) cleaned. The local Nissan dealer wants $80 to clean the injectors or $120 to clean the carbon deposits off the TB, clean the injectors, and dump some "STP-type" cleaner in the tank.

What do you guys recommend in order for me to get the sludge deposits removed from the piston/injector area in the engine bay? Should I let the dealer do it, Jiffy Lube, or DIY?

If DIY, what products do you recommend (and their average price)?

Thanks in advance.

at 30k, you probably dont have much of an accumalation but im sure some is there. at this point, i would do it myself. i would recommnend intake cleaner for a couple of bucks and a bottle of chevron techron fuel system cleaner. cleaning the throttle body is a simple job but pictures are available at motorvate.ca edit-techron in 12oz runs like 6 bucks.

I recommend you use Chevron fuel exclusively from now on and you won't need any type of fuel system cleaner.

If you've been using other brand fuel, just add a bottle of "Techron" per recommended for a couple thousand miles and then don't use any other brand from then on.
