allignment

anyone ever have a problem with shaking inthe steering wheel and they did an allignment and it went away?
I've had a shaking in the steering wheel ever since I got the car it happens whenever I drive over 45mph.
I've had the wheels balenced many times and had 2 tires replaced.
twice with a hunter 9700..
I've rotated the rires also and the problem remains.
So i'm kind of at a loss as to what I should do next

If the car is shaking, it's because the wheel is not balanced. May be the wheels is balanced but when it's put on the car, it's not. They may overtighned the wheels and cause it to be out of balance. It happened to me but I brought it back and they re-balance it again and it went away. Let's hope it's not wrong with your suspension...

your wheels could have a slight bend in them, that would definately cause shaking

That is true but there is a problem with that in this case. The vibration starts after 45mph. If he had a bent rim, they would not be able to balance it.

i balanced 1 of my stock 17's after i hit a nasty pot hole and then i got vibrations just like what your talking about around 60 mph, so i drove like that for a few weeks and did the balance over again now i can barely feel it at 60mph much better but still there very slightly.. your rim is bent.... the only options are to replace the bent rim or rotate it to the passenger side rear of the car where u wont feel it at all. the best 2 rims should be put up front because the closer a bad wheel is to the steering wheel the more you feel it.

I didn't hit anything and they said the rim doesnt look bent.
does a hunter 9700 check for bent rims?
