Got taken by an '00-'02 Mustang GT.....convertible

Well this was a tough loss. Especially since I pulled a lightly modified hard top GT by almost a whole length from a 40mph roll. I was minding my business cruising on a three lane road when a black GT caught my eye darting through traffic in my rear view. It looked to be a guy in his early 20s. He pulled ahead of me and I followed him for two lights. We got to the third and he was two lanes over. There was a Buick between us. So the light turns green and about the middle of first gear it was on!! He got most of his lead in 2nd gear and from then on he couldn't get anything but neither could I....and this was a rag top and his window was all the way down. I left off in 4th gear at alittle over 100 mph. Couldn't hear his motor over mine so I don't know about mods. Anyway, it appears my heavier than stock wheel/tire combo may have cost me a tenth or two. Now how much are those UDP's?

You ran into someone that actually knew how to drive his Mustang. The GT vert is actually a pretty even match for our 3.5L VQ's (when it's driven properly).

's all about the torque--like 302 lb/ft of it. I traded a 99 GT for an 02 Maxima, and although I don't miss the bumpy ride, uncomfortable seats, and general lack of refinement, I do miss the push-you-into-your-seat torque. Oh, and I miss being able to do donuts
