Stillen headers with or without cat???

just curious as to whether or not the stillen headers are going to have a cat or not....because theres no way to pass emissions with an obd2 computer and no cats.....RIGHT????? if there is a way please let me know. or are they just going to let you buy the top half and use a diff Y-pipe...soooo many questions

Re: Stillen headers with or without cat???

The Stock cat remains I think. The headers DO, in fact, eliminate the Pre-cats.

finally something to get rid of the precats........eliminating the precats we should still be able to pass emissions with the stock cat correct?

I think so. I dont have to worry though, FL has no inspections

i really dont think that we can pass without precats but beyond that i think that the stillen headers replace the stock cat as well...inturn presenting a rather large problem for us with OBD2 computers

The Hotshot Altima headers replace the precats and there was talk of several options including no main cat or a high flow main cat. We should be able to pass emissions with just the main cat if the car is warmed up.

Any answers about Stillen are pure speculation. I haven't read or heard one word that these are even close to existing.

Same here on the stillen ones. BTW, WTF does the OBD2 computer have to do w/ passing emissions. All it does is store fault codes.

OBD II cars in Texas only have to show "clean" to the ECU, as they plug into the computer to pass or fail you. This means dummy O2 sensors for those without cats at all. If you only have the main cat, you should be able to pass a sniff with the engine hot, as the pre-cats are used to clean until the main cat warms up.
