Will a y-pipe be a good idea with a auto Max? I am concerned about losing low end torque.

get a y-pipe if you want it for the 2k1, the 2k2s dont gain a whole lot from exhaust mods (or so ive read on the .org )...I just got mine and its awesome!

Yes it is for the 2k1. Will I lose big low end torque? Is the power gain worth the money?

I dont think anything we do to our car is worth the money... the car depreciates in value no matter what.. we just do it because we like modding our cars.

The y-pipe is one of the best bang for the buck mods you can
do for the 2k and 2k1 and probably most earlier gens as well.
No you won't lose low end torque unless you get 3" y-pipe and no
turbo or supercharger.
Look around for some of the numbers. I don't remember exactly but it's around 5-6 ft/lbs of torque
increase and 10-15hp increase at the wheels. If you don't want to spend a lot just get an airflow kit and a y-pipe.
There are a few different y-pipes to choose from and if
you don't get stainless steel you could save some money there as well. But since our cars are the best you may as well buy the best if you can afford it!
