Try this!!!

I want to find out if this is normal!!
If I am holding my foot on the brake and I just ease off so I am just about moving I feel the car shuddering a little!!!
I don't know if this is normal or if there is a problem?

Does anyone else notice this?

Your brake rotors are warped. There is a recall for this. Get it taken car of at the dealer. It should be free.

Have a break shop take a look at the rotors. Did this happen before you had them done? Maybe they were put on wrong

You have to be traveling at high sppeeds to get the vib if the rotors are warped, just had mine done w/ 1700 miles. I'm telling you its the pads on the rotors. That little bit of friction makes that groaning sound and makes the steering wheel vibrate.

You know how the Max's have a somewhat uneven idle?
It's like that is transmitted through the tranny so it is felt when you just ease off the gas rolling just a touch!

Uneven Idle? Not unless you got cams. You coulndt even hear my engine running be4 I got me exhaust done. Now well, check my sig to see what it sounds like but the idle is still perfect just throatier and deeper. What have you got done to your ride man? how many miles are on it, ect...
This is just weird.

You ask fir help, and the minute someone asks you a question to see if there is a reason that happens to help you, you jump on his case

Yes, this happens to me quite often too but it happens when I set foot on gas after releasing my foot off hard break (like driving off a parking lot or from an intersection). All I have to do is simply push a little on the gas and my car shudders for until RPM hits a certain point. I own a 03 SE, about 2 months old... does anyone know which kind of recall (if any) applies to my car?

Money **** you say? No but seriously did you get all 4 of the rotors done or just two. Mine only went bad in the rear, the fronts never warped. This does happen to me only when the brakes are went and when I do a extremly hard stop. On normal cases it doesnt make any noise however and I have 28K miles on the pads. Never been changed either Ive seen these pads go up to 55K+ miles w/o being changed but the driver was an old lady. Mine will probably be done with 2-3K miles.

I've had this happen to other cars i've owned.
did you recently have your pads replaced?
If so maybe you should bring it back to them and tell them to sand down the pads a little so they don't make too much noise.
Or just wait until the pads break in some more.

What is happening is your brakes are "moaning". I do this quite often when I am bored in traffic, it makes people look... It is really easy to do when it is wet out. I can get any car I drive to do it, it is normal. I think everyone here is mistaking it for the high speed brake jitter, aka warped disc's. What is happening (with my own non scientifc way of thinking) is that the brake pads are being applied with enough force to cause friction and vibration, but not enough force to keep them tight and firm against the disc's, hence you get vibration or "moaning" when you can achieve that "balance" if that is what you want to call it. The reason it doesn't squeal is because of the brake's anti squeal clips and grease. Otherwise it would sound like school bus coming to a stop. It is a perfect reason to keep your brakes working and properly maintained.

I just went to the dealer and drove a 2000 SE .........it did the same thing!!
It must be normal for this type of motor!
Just easing off the brake and you feel a little judder in the seat of your pants!! NO, it is not the rotors!!!
I think it is the way the motor idles that is transmitted throughout the drive train!!

Then what can we say? I guess your gonna have to just get used to it. For the record, mine does that but only when its wet.

I think the vibration is from load of the belts that feed the power steering and comp.

Try this, with the car on a slight incline and the steering dead center, note the vibration. Turn the steering slightly to right or left (9 or 3 o'clock) then release it and you may notice the vibration is a little more noticeable.

vibrate, my 2k does

My .02 again.... it's not the belts, engine, or anything other than what rob'sAE said. It is completely normal for just about any car, i had a 89 Volvo 740 turbo that would make the same noise and have that same feel, especially after running it through a car wash. I hear ya... I'm a perfectionist also, but there are some things that can't be changed. I'll get off the box now.

KC, it is not the brakes!!! They are not moaning or any of that!!
It has to do with the drivetrain!!!
Here is another test...stop at the top of a hill and take your foot off the brake.......it is felt then!!
Now how could it be the brakes then??? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
