damn, i removed my cats today, so basically i was running like an open downpipe straight off the engine and bypassing EVERYTHING, DONT do it, it is SO damn loud, its louder than my friends LS1 transam with headers, no cats, and full exhaust, but anyways, i just did it because i just installed my intake today and i wanted to get the full benefits of exhaust - but it did make it ALOT faster and you can definatly feel the difference, my friend said something about how restrictive the downpipe on these are and that he bet it would do alot to get an aftermarket one - anybody know where i can find one? - but yeah, word to the wise, dont remove the cats and run an open downpipe, however im going to an exhaust shop and having them make a flanged peice that can bolt up to where the cats were and installing a cut-out so i can open and close it, silent to LOUD - and plus for emissions i can just bolt the cat right back on - but anyways, that engine sounds so damn mean at WOT - dont do it though!

 

I have a full exhaust setup witha straight pipe. I had a WS6 Trans am with Lingenfelter heads and headers etc..... No its not anywhere as loud or intimidating as my 6 speed beast !
But if you bypass everything.... That will sound nasty ...

 

I'm not certain what would be worst: Hearing my 2K2 w/o cats or hearing my wife b---h about how loud my 2K2 would be w/o cats.
