Suspension advice Quick......please
ok i may finally be getting mods
so the desicion i have to make is about the struts
i am probably gonna jump on the GD for tein springs so the question is what struts do i get to go with them?
KYB GR-2 for 260 shipped + 150 shipped for the springs=410
Koni sport adjustable for 529.20+shipping=150 for the springs=679.20+
is it worth the extra 270 dollars just to have the adjustable struts
there will be little instalation cost because i am gonna do it myself all i need is a spring compressor and metrick sockets and like a 5" extention for the socket wrench........
tell me which struts to get

I say the KYB unless you want to be a beta tester. I also heard that the Koni struts were not a replacement strut, but an insert. I think I read it on here so please confirm this to be true or false. Unless you autoX, I don't think you will adjust them.

This is that scares me. Direct from Tirerack.com
Notes: Front fitment. Twin Tube Low Pressure Gas Externally Adjustable McPherson Strut Cartridge Special McPherson strut insert bolted into OE housing after cutting top and removing old internal parts

Depends on your spring choice and how much you want to compromise. I had sprints on stock struts and it sucked. I have Maxspeeds on stock struts and it rides good. I do think an upgraded strut would be better though because it will control a little of the bounciness after big dips in the road.

Konis if you can handle the install. Not that hard. Konis are superior in every way. If you are getting the KYB adjustables that should be fine. If you are just getting the GR-2 replacement shocks(non adj), I'm not sure they are valved for higher rate springs(ie.. will wear out faster)

The Koni's are inserts and need to be moddified in order to work. I know because I bought them and wound up returning them the next day.
I went with the modified KYB AGX's from Cattman. Their cheaper than the Konis and are adjustable as well. If you do decide on these remember that they are for the 4th Gen so you need to buy 4th Gen springs for them to fit properly. Cattman has a thread in the group deal section for this combo (Sprint springs) for $580.00.
One thing about the KYB Gr-2's, every vendor that I ask keeps stressing the fact that these are very similar to OEM. So if you drop your car and slap these on, they'll blow just like OEM struts do. **DISCLAIMER** This is what I've been told time and time again, just sharing this info with you.
I had my Maxspeeds installed on my stock struts, what a mistake. They were nice at first but they went bad real quick. Some peeps squeeze more life out of the aftermarket springs/OEM struts combo, but it's not worth the risk of spending extra money for installation (new struts) if your luck is like mine.
Good luck.

Here's part of an e-mail I got from KYB before I got the GR-2's. I have them on Eibach springs. Use the info to judge whether you want to use them with Tein's because of the amount of drop.
"Using the Eibach Pro-Kit springs on our product will keep the warranty.
KYB products have a Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty applies to the
original purchaser of the product with a dated proof of purchase. The
warranty does not apply to product that is misapplied, abused, or used in
racing or commercial applications. The warranty is void if the product is
used on excessively lowered (over 1.5") vehicles or if an Aftermarket
coilover shock system is used. Please contact your place of purchase, or a
local KYB retailer, for warranty qualification and/or exchange."
FYI, I've had mine for six months, no problems with them.

Now im even more undecided. i dont think the koni sports are right for me so maybe the kyb agx adapted from fourth gen and progress springs combo from cattman. I teally want teins though but it says that the teins are too agressive of a drop and will cause problems is that true with an adjustable strut?
