Lightning
I saw a Ford SVT Lightning the other day and the guy kept looking at my car. We were inside Subway but he left before I did. It looked pretty good, what are the specs on that truck, engine size, bhp, etc. I would have caught an *** whooping right.

madmax2 - hehe. Sorry buddy but Maxes have no chance against a Bolt. Bolts shine on the freeway and its their favorite stomping ground. Imagine how hard it is to hook up 450ft/lbs of torque at a stop light....we have to throw more weight (sandbags) in the box just to get traction. So in effect we add more weight and they go faster
Anyways, I don't ever recall hearing about a Bolt losing at a high speed roll on. Of course its happens though. BTW the Bolts have no speed governor. They are aerodynamically speed limited I believe around 140-145 mph. So I wouldn't wait it out on the top speed...But there is hope. =P I think I am gonna supercharge my Max this Spring (Just had Stillen send the installation directions to my Nissan dealer to see if they will do it). Then I'll let people know which is faster. But no SC no go against a Lightning. Keep looking straight ahead at the stop light.

Our '00 Bolts have 365 HP and 450 ft/lbs of torque as I recall. For reference a Viper puts out 410 ft/lbs of torque. Anyways, Bolts can beat manual Vettes and Ram Air 'Birds or Camaros fairly easily unless the car has a very good driver aboard. I think that as better chip programs are written guys are getting them into the 12's at the track with just a chip and intake. If not high 12's then low 13's for sure. Its not the fastest machine on the road for sure, but I don't think anyone who has never ridden in one can really appreciate just how fast they are...kinda like the Syclones"

You have trouble hooking up the lightning from a dead stop? Every time I have driven one (all 2000s) I had barely any tire spin problems. The thing weighs like 5400 lbs. My friend will sell me his with all his sh*t on it for 30K. Billit griles, system, chip, and 20" Harely Davidson Rims. To bad I don't have that 30K
Darnit, Albertan!
I don't know where you get your self control! I guess it's the weather that's keeing your L in the garage, but I'll gladly put her up at my house (in mild, mild Northern California)at no charge. She won't freeze or feel neglected at all!!
Anyway, you're lucky to have both the Max and L. I hope to join your club after I refinance my house this April.

If you get the opportunity I definitely recommend the Lightning. Its rare enough most anywhere to command attention wherever you go, and from what I hear you can have fun chomping on most anything but a Viper (on the street) until it bores you. Good luck

I recently installed an SVO single blade throttle body and now wheelspin is a major problem. From a standstill it is literally like driving on ice. The truck will sit absolutely still while the tires go up in smoke. It feels like the driveshaft fell off. When it shifts to second gear at full throttle, the tires don't just chirp, they spin violently and the truck goes sideways. The other day I was cruising along at about 35 mph and stomped on the gas. Instant downshift to first, massive wheelspin, and the truck slid sideways.

I read about the single blade throttle vent mod in a recent issue of Truckin' magazine and wondered what the effect would feel like - - it's pretty hard to tell from published HP numbers. It sounds like you need traction in a bad way, but what are your options besides different rubber and/or weight in the bed?

True enough. When mine was stock I could pull very consistent 2.0 60ft times at the track just by stomping on the gas. Adding the chip required a slightly lighter touch on the gas pedal. The filter makes in downright hard to launch. My 13.110 with the chip/filter actually had a worse 60ft time (2.08) than runs with no mods.
