Hey busakiller,

I recently dropped my 2003 Maxima SE/TE with Teins and KYB GR2 shocks-just 2 days ago.

I have a slight rake in the front, where the front sits a bit lower than the rear-so its not really even.

Does your Max do this at all?????? Meaning a slight rake in the front?????

Do you have a FSTB??? Just curious....

Thanks

the "rake" is a lift..u mean the back is "raked" up, not the front

Well the front sits lower on my Max than I seen in other pictures of this spring/shock combo on other 5th gen Maxima's.
In comparing my car to others, the rear matches, and sits normal (not lifted), but the front slopes down more, meaning the front tires are "tucked" in more within the front fenders.
Thats why I say it looks a bit "raked", the back doesn't looked lifted at all-the rear sits perfect, it's just the front

Make sense...

It looks like that a little but I have a box and subs in the trunk that weigh about 80lbs plus I have a full tank of gas in those pics too.. ppl have said that's the way it's suppose to look when it's even.. Someone even said they use a level to see if it was.. IMO I would like the front to be just a hair higher but that just me.. I was really surprised how it rides.. Not to harsh at all for an 2.2 inch drop.. Alignment was done with no problems too so that was a plus... Yes I have a FSTB.. I have the RSB coming in Monday and I heard that makes a world of a difference...

no because u just contradicted urself again...if the front is sloping down, it's sitting lower which means the back is lifted or "raked"

follow me?

Yeah I will follow what your saying bro
But I guess the simple way of saying this is: The front sits lower than the rear, and the car appears uneven a bit.

The front needs to come up some to make it look really even IMHO.
With Teins, if the rear came down anymore it would look like a**.
The front dips down more than I would like I guess thats what I'm trying to say.
I just wanted to see if that was normal with other Tein owners with a 02-03 Maxima SE Auto?

From what I read above, and pics I've seen, its still up in the air in my mind.

My Max seems to be a little lower in the front as well or has the tucked look. But i like it. Great handling though (with a RSB).

Why you selling? I orderd a set from Tirerack, and it was supposed to be here Mon, now they said it might take another week and a half to have the complete set. There's one in back order

Thank you Madd Kidd, so I'm not alone on this one. Is your 5th Gen Max an Auto or 6spd.???

With the Auto's having a bit more weight up front, than the manuals, this could explain why some Max's sit lower in the front, and some not as low. Maybe?

Granted, its a slight slope, but I'm a critical SOB anyways

Warranty???

NOBODY EVER MENTIONED that fact that lowering our cars VOIDS the lifetime warranty on KYB shocks.!!!!!

I just found this out after calling Foreign Car Parts looking for the Gr-2's.
THis applies to AGX's as well. 1.5 " is the max according to KYB.

WTF??

Guess nobody cares.

FCP quoted $315 shipped to me in Atlanta for the set of 4 Gr-2's if anybody was interested.

KYB has increased their prices in lieu of the backorder it would seem.

actually you started the whole things with comments about my rims and the fact that i didnt have very many mods. im pretty sure you said something to the effect of "let him (guy who wanted 20's) do what he wants. you dont realy have a right to give advice since you dont have any mods" and i retaliated.
