If you have the Stillen AP Racing BBK .. help!
Well ... lol .. actually .. I don't think you can help .. or can you?
I need the bracket that attaches the caliper to the car (for lack of the correct term).
For whatever reason .. the end of one of the bolt somehow lost it's ribbing. I didn't notice that and when I tried screwing the bolt back into the hole in the bracket .. it didn't quite go .. so I tried a little hard and then a little harder.
Then I figured .. wtf ... I look and I notice the bolt ... f&ck. I look at the hole in the bracket ... double f&ck ... I now stripped the ribbing inside the hole of the bracket.
Question is ... would anyone have any idea what this costs? I know I can wait until the morning (well .. afternoon b/c I'm in TO) and call Stillen .. but this is ****ing me off!
Tkx!
PS .. if you have any other solutions / suggestions .. I'd be very willing to hear them .. ciao!

I take it your terminology of ribbing means THREADS?
If so, its bad yes, but you can always re-Thread the bolts to a larger size. Now it is going to tough to find a large re-threader like that. But if you know someone who has them or you can get a hold of them from your local hardware store, then You can always rethread the hole to a larger one. I know I personally got a threader big enough to do a 3/4" hole for a 3/4" bolt.

Dixit ... any safety or liability issues? I asked my mechanic who could do this for me and he said that he couldn't think of anyone that would do this because of the liability issue. Since it's a brake piece something could potentially go wrong. Thoughts?
BTW .. how much did the boring cost you?

There are no safety issues or liability issues besides the point where if the mechanic does it wrong he has to pay for a new piece. Maybe he too scared to do it cause he doesnt know or doesnt want to take the risk
Me I have all these tools cause my dad used to be into this kind of stuff, he had to own every tool back in the day.

You're right ... my mechanic is just being way too cautious .. I called Stillen and they were extremely helpful. They pretty much told me to get it rebored since the bracket costs $125 to replace.
