Some weird noises!!!

Maybe I'm paranoid, but it's happened twice. I was pulling out of a parking space and the car makes this weird sound like something is stuck. And the parking break is off. This can't be happening! ITS AN 03! Could it be that we left it parked for so long (2 days) without driving it? I have no idea why its making those noises though.

Oh and just a rant, some b@stard dented my car the first week we got it! I was like who the hell hurt my baby when it was out there! Its on the right side passenger door, stripped a bit of the rubber weather stripping and dented the chrome metal under the rubber! Geez people are so inconsiderate its a damn new car! I swear as soon as I can I'm moving out of Atlanta, the drivers suck, they're basically driving like me for the first time and I haven't even been driving that long and I can drive better than some of them now. (Not all just some). One night while I was drivin some idiot pulled out right onto the road the nose of his car taking half of the whole road up while I was driving, I was driving at 40mph and it could've taken a second before I hit him but I swirved. The other time was when this guy came into my lane so I tried no to hit him, but was going to fast..it was my 2nd night driving so I didn't know to tap the breaks and slow down so I went and scraped up my rims . Someone said I could use a buffer for that, I don't think so...what are your thoughts of repairing scuffs on the rims?

Thanks guys you've been a lot of help.

I get the same "clunk" noise sometimes. I think it's the emergency brake. I'm guessing it doesn't entirely let go when i take the brake off, so when i move you hear it. I noticed it happening during the winter more.

what exactly is the sound and where does it sound like it's coming from?

On mine, it's coming from the rear wheels.

Hey there..

i believe it's the parking brake releasing that makes the 'clunk'. It happens to me the very next day everytime on my 2000 SE after a car wash and parked with handbrake overnight.

Yep it makes the noise from the tires, and its like something is stuck and takes a while to release, its usually from parking then easing it out of the parking lot at 3mph or so in reverse. At first I thought it was that I turned the steering wheel too sharp but that wasn't it since I tried driving straight backwards. Oh I did wash my car, then drive it around for a little while then park it and it made the noise then. I've checked the emergency/parking break each time before I drove. /shrugs
