Any problems with the GAB or PAB??

Have any of you guys experienced any type of problems with the GAB or PAB mod? Has anyone had the chance to dyno or compare it to an intake? What type of air filter do you use?

I did the GAB, and have had no problems. I use a K&N filter. As far as HP gains; I think this intake gives the same benefit as any other intake, which is basically ZERO (or at least negligible) hp gains and a nice sound at WOT.

But, it does look pretty ghetto.

intakes give hp on the dyno. someone on the org did a comparison... dont remeber the results but something like 7 hp to the wheels was gained w/an intake. also, check out nissanperformancemag.com for their tests on a 3.5 altima

K&N filter is mostly used. I have heard that the Ghetto air box gives the most hp or about the same hp than the rest. probably because it doesnt suck in hot air.

Cheap and easy is the way to go!!!!

Has anyone been to the track? What were the before and after results?

*** I think GAB in conjunction with a OSCAI is the way to go. A GAB alone is probably no better than a francar, jwt, stillen, or any other WAI. Put a tube to the front to get a ram air effect, and it's probably a different story.

A hacked box (which I have) sounds cool under WOT, but I think you need a OSCAI to complete the set up for hp gains.

Where do you get that you're not pulling hot air from? You're modifying your sealed existing intake tubing, which flows cooler air from outside and basically hacking off the top of it. Now not only does the air not flow as fast because it's not sealed anymore, you're also pulling hot air from under the hood directly through the filter. I don't argue with the fact that more air gets in with a GAB compared to OEM, but it's all hot air from under the hood. If I was going to do a GAB I would definitely have some sort of ram air tubing going to it to get some cooler air in.

BTW...there is more than enough information about this topic available through searching. I did a few searches over the weekend and found everything I wanted to know about the GAB and more.

I think that's why you need the OSCAI also. Wihout it, it's no better than any other WAI.
