You are comparing apple to oranges, it all depend on what you want....a lot of factors.

They are all different in term of design, intent of usage, structures, damping forces, street/semi track vs. track..monotube vs twin tube, high pressure gas vs, low, the way the height is adjusted, inverted struts vs conventional design, piston diameter, adjustability difference! I can go on and on....

I believe the teins and jics have the same ammount of dampening and ride height. However the Jic's include a camber kit. Also their made in Japan vs. Taiwan. Which one would you buy

I have the Jic's and their perfect..

The question to you is, do you plan on racing your max on the track? If not, just get some Tein springs and GR2 shocks. I would LOVE to have JICs, but my max wont see the track..yet so I cant justify spending the $$$. I think both setups are great, but i would go with JIC.. IMO..

Tein makes good product, a friend of mine has there RA coilovers on his rsx type-s, handles awesome, though on rough roads ride is rough also. The RA is a much more agressive system then the SS available for the max though. Last I checked Tein was a Japanese company,(Sport Compact Car 11-02). Also Cattman/Progress makes coilovers for 4th and 5th gen's now,$1350(?). I have them sitting in my living room(I know not doing much) will be on in couple of weeks, will post with verdict. I have had good experience with Progress on other friends heavily moded Civic SI. 70+mph on off ramps! Also Progress is a domestic company, that manufactor's everything in the good ole US of A.

That's what I thought, this guy must be out his mind, neither is made in Taiwan, very obvious. However, both of them are designed and tested in U.S.A(with usa vehicles). But are manufactured in Japan. And there is no way Tein offers the same damping force as JIC, just as the nature of mone-tube high pressure gas charged shocks used by JIC can tell you that they are meant for track use....

On the other hand, Tein uses twin tube low pressure gas charged...and no camber adjustability--big thumbs down.

bottom line is, Tein SS line up offers better ride comfort than JIC...JIC is for track/autoX hardcore ppl, I don't think a lot of ppl on this board are anyway!

I have JIC's on the Maxima and had Tein RA's on the old Subaru. I like Tein RA's better but the JIC FLT-A2's are much nicer than the SS Tein kit. Unfortunately Tein only makes the SS for the Maxima. It's an excellent kit esp;ecially for daily driving but if you want something more lightweight and higher adjustability with more an emphasis on track use go for the JIC.

don't the tein coilovers use the stock front strut mounts? Would this cause noise when you turn due to the coilover springs turning and twisting on the perch??
