Front Fog Lights on 2000 Maxima

Okay, this may be a completely stupid question, but I am a new owner of a 2000 Maxima GLE. I would like to know how to turn on the fog lights. The owner's manual says to contact the dealership about it. I did not buy it from a dealership and thought that maybe someone in the discussion group has previous experience with a similar situation. If they are non-functioning, what is the point? If you could give me any tips I'd appreciate it.

If your car doesn't have fog lights (and has the dark colored inserts), you first need to get them installed.

If your car has the fog lights, there is a switch located on the turn signal arm that you slide forward and back to turn on the fog lights (very close to the switch to turn on the lights themselves).

First thing...'front' fog lights?? Like there are side and rear ones???

OK, look at your light control stick (turn signal stalk), there should be a ring kind of switch there for turning them on and off independent of the other lights.

schmackyjoe...

hey man, just ignore jjs... he's very well typical for criticism (i.e., "smart comments") and fails to realize that not everyone knows everything like he does.

BTW, the only "dumbass question" is the one not asked.

That is how the car is wired, not the switch.

Like... yes there are rear fog lights. Many European cars have rear fogs, and they are called REAR FOG LIGHTS. Whether he was stating front fogs to be clear to the readers or he just gave a little too much detail.... who cares?

His reply to you was not cocky, it was way more polite than it should have been.

I know that, i was just letting him know that if he turns the car on and he tries to turn the dial and that his foglights dont come on, its because he has to have his lights on as well. thanks for the heads up though, i will certainly come to you now when i have a question since you are so knowledgeable.

Also, the fog lights go off when the high beams are turned on.
