Tire pressure....Question....

What PSI should i have on my gforce TA to get the best wear out of them? i have been getting lost of wear around 31psi and i dont drive them hard. have a 400 TWear

Would less or more pressure effect the life in anyway?
What Psi do you put yours at?

Thanks

nissan says 32 but i keep my michelins between 34-35. it helps with gas mileage and feels like it helps with cornering.

It seems like either too much or too little tire pressure can cause accelerated tire wear. On the stock potenzas I keep 34 front and 33 rear. I like the way the car handles this way.

when you were talking about the wear on the tires, exactly how are they wearing? is it even or one sided? i was thinking if the pressure was fine, it could be an alignment issue.

Remember the tempatture on hot days... take a cold reading and use that as you base line. Tire pressure increses as the tire heats when you drive. Like "nismaniac" said 34-35 is good on a cold reading.

It seems they wear on the sides probably due to the lack of pressure and im going to get the tires rebalanced and aligned some time this week to make sure. i am getting lots of vibration with the steering wheel when i get on the highway.

I hate seeing my tread wear so fast when i just got them and dished out some bucks too.

Vibes usually won't come from an alignment problem... unless an alingment problem created tires that were out of round and the tires were rotated. It is either a tire balance problem or a tire defect problem... probably the first. Good luck

the alignment will be good insurance to keep them from wearing faster than they should if its out of spec. the balancing should take care of the vibration. as suggested earlier, make sure the tires arent hot when the pressure is taken.

I have 37k on my stock "iwannakillmyselftenzas" with about 1/3 tread left on all 4 and I drive hard. I run 40 up front and 35 in rear. Yes it is a little hard but it handles better and tires last much longer.

I run 35# in all 4 Impotenzas. 39,000 miles, still can't wait for them to wear out so I can put real tires on the Max.

Maybe some Cornell retreads from Pep Boys.

the tread on my potenzas was completely and evenly worn away at 18k. i cant see how people are getting anymore than 25k out of them. i guess i could have probably driven another 1k and had the belts start showing through but i did not want to risk my life anymore.

What was your tire pressure and what kindof driving, city/hwy %, hard, moderate, old-fogey, did you spin out a lot, brake hard often? Lots of things effect tire wear. I just try and be as smooth as possible as far as cornering, braking goes.

tire pressure then was between 33-34 psi. most of the driving would be considered city even though it was back and forth to college which was off highway 40. never really did any burnouts just a few chirps here and there. this was also at the coast of nc so there were not many turns to take hard but the few i found i would try and push it.

I keep all four tires at 35psi... works great for cornering and even tire wear.

I've got 60+% of my tread left, and I'm at about 17.5K miles on an '03 GLE...
