Another auto tranny question/problem...a bit complex

My tranny shifts hard most the time, like very stiff shifts, bang, bang. It's not as bad as the resistor going bad.

Now about 20% of the time the tranny goes from shifting hard into 3rd to slipping into 3rd.

Also after brief stops the tranny when shifting into reverse will slip as if it has no pressure.

Dealer says there is no problem

Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear that. I feel you; I've been driving my gle around without being able to shift at WOT at all or go into fourth for a month or so. I have no warranty so I'm in a much different situation than you. My 2001 AE VLSD 5spd parts are on their way.

If I were you I would get a video camera and film the tranny slipping. Show that to the dealer and get it fixed under warranty. Or, like [maxi-overdose] said, just take them for a ride. If its hard to duplicate a camera might be easier.
Good luck.

This tranny was replaced by this dealer. I am going to another dealer. Any idea what it is other that a pos tranny? BTW this tranny slipped like crazy when new to the point the rpm was 700 when decelerating in gear.
