i decided against getting one since you can always add it later. my exhaust is barely different from stock except at idle where it sounds like it burbles a little more. i would go without it, you may like the sound and its cheaper without it. if you decide you want to add one later, it wont be a hassle.

If you plan on getting a Y-pipe and a straight through muffler I would go with a resonator.

I took my Y pipe off and my B pipe w/o resonator sounds fine. In my opinion....

That was when I had my y-pipe no res and stock muffler. It was all stock piping except for the no res and y-pipe. It had just a little bit of tone, hardly noticable but when you got on it a weird grinding noise came from the exhaust and it just sounded sick. After that I got the cattman b-pipe with a res and kept the stock muffler and it was just as quiet as stock. That is the most silent setup for a power gain, great for the sleeper look.

Definately get the res. Without a res provides no difference in hp.

Why would there be no hp gain if you don't have a resonator

The Magnaflow Muffler clips in your url sound great! Would I get that sound on my 2K Max with just a muffler? Where did you get it from?

Does the muffler just come without pipes and hangers and do you have to get a muffler shop to add those?

Thanks

When I had my 95 maxima, i bought a muffler, bomz racing R spec, and i let my exuast shop install it for me, I kinda expected a more louder noise, but knowing its a V6 and not a 4banger, its a quiet clean noise. For some reason, 2 days later, I decided to take off the resonator, taking it off doesnt really add no hp, just a tad bit increase in sound, it does make a burble sound at low rpms, other than that, it makes a sweet *** sound around 3k hearing both intake (injen cai) and exuast...now my only question is, what would my sound be if i added a free flowin cat and throwin on a aftermarket y pipe ?

I belive you are refering to mine. The magnaflow and most muffler for the fact are universal, which means the muffler shop has to make the hangers. No big deal at all, it only took them like 1min to rig up 3 custom hangers. Got mine from here 14815 is the # for the exact 1 im running.

Thanks for the info. Are you running with only a mod muffler or do you have any other exhaust mods?

Check my sig for the soundclips, it lists on that site what im running. Stillen Ypipe, stock cat, cattman b-pipe with custom the last 2ft or so and then the magnaflow.
