Battery Died: While Driving

While driving I noticed that my brake and battery light turned on, seconds later the car dropped rpms and I couldn't get past 1k rpms... As soon as I pulled over the ABS lights started to blink and the lights started to dim...

Why would a battery just die on me like this and what type of battery do you recommend I buy that is better quality then stock but still affordable.

I would check your alternator first.

I can't really check the alternator with a completely dead battery & jumping the battery doesn't work. I also need to know where to buy 120v fuses for a max.

It sounds like more than just the battery. The battery dying while driving points to an alternator problem or possibly an elctrical problem. If you have another car try borrowing the battery to test.

A few ppl here use Optima yellow top marine batteries. They are not cheap but zero maintenance.

Did you do any electrical work lately? Added sound system?

Nothing at all. Only had Nissan replace my stereo 3 times because the mechanics are damn morons, and I still have to get it replaced again!

I'll test with a borrowed battery in a minute.

With my experience with Nissan I'd rather fix it myself, unless it's the alternator of course.

Guess I'll have to talk to the MORONS again.
