Injen Cold Air Intake Questions..
Hey, if anybody is familiar with this intake set up, you will notice that the filter goes down towards the ground ie. Cold Air - a guy at the service department at my local nissan dealership said that this kind of setup could pose a problem - he said that it has the potential to burn up my engine - and that it could possibly suck up water into my engine - does anybody know if this is osmething i have to be worried about? - or is it nothing to big? - thanks

if you drive thru a river it could be a very bad thing, otherwise there are really no concerns with sucking up water. any small amounts of water that do get into the intake are vaporized by the heat of the engine. it is possible to suck up a lot of water, but very unlikely. I've driven for like 3.5 hours strait thru heavy downpours wtih my custom CAI and had no problems at all. no water in the airbox ( i checked when i got home)

there is a bypass, I just read about it on injen's website yesterday in their FAQ... or you could do what I do and not drive through water higher than a few inches. The filter is at least 8 inches off the ground and you shouldn't be driving through water that deep anyway.
oh, and that guy at the service dept. is just a few short inches away from being a total moron. You can tell him I said so
