Painting rotors?

This weekend my buddy and I installed new PowerSlot rotors and painted his calipers (blue). The Powerslots are really nice in the respect that they are bright silver and rust inhibited.

I would like to get the nice shiney look of his rotors but I don't want to spend the $400 on them - and my brakes are working fine (only 3,500 miles on them). Has anyone ever painted their rotors? The "hub" part and the edge? Not where the pad contacts them - although if there is some overspray I guess hitting the brakes would clean them off nice .

I found some 1200 degree spray paint (intended for BBQ grills). Do you think this would work?

First off, I wouldn't use BBQ Grille spray.
Secondly, yes, many people paint the HUBs (only)
Lastly, rotors aren't that much. Check out ebay.com or groupbuycenter.com - you will find some deals on just rotors alone -- usually like $45 each.

Not sure if this applys to Maxima but I painted the rotors on my Z28, it didn't stay on too long.

How does BBQ grill spray paint differ from caliper paint? The BBQ stuff was 1200 degree and the caliper stuff ranged from 500 - 900. I thought that heat resistance was the only difference between this and regular spray paint?

Also, I could spend the money on the rotors but then I would have to get new pads too and my brakes are fine. It's not too much, but $300 as opposed to $20 in spray paint turn this from a cheapo mod to an expensive one!
