I am considering buying them from SouthwestAutoWorks. They are

2002-2003 Nissan Maxima Stillen Crossdrilled Rotors-Front Pair

Regular price: $280.61
Sale price: $219.99

2002-2003 Nissan Maxima Front Metal Matrix Pads-Set

Regular price: $65.70
Sale price: $59.00

Is this a recommended purchase or is there cheaper/better alternative that is available for a 2003 Maxima?

How about the rotors or the pads? Anyone have Powerslot rotors? I am looking for some feedback.

i've got that combo now. i have one rotor (in the rear) that's got a big line in it like the pad's got something stuck between it and the rotor. i've read that the stillen rotors may exhibit this with either their own pads or the axxis metal masters. (i've got the axxis pads)
overall, much better initial bite and louder braking. damn near impossible to feather it on a downslope, brakes are either on or off. makes it kinda tough be be delicate without making a groaning noise.
if i had to do it all over again, i'd prolly get the porterfield pads. rotors are fine so far. biggest advantage that i saw with the stillen product was their cadmium coating. but i think the powerslots do that too. i don't like rusty bells. i'd prolly get the powerslots now anyway, since i can't stand the people at stillen. don't like to buy from people who are mean to me.

I'm very tempted to upgrade as well....my brakes are shot, and
I've only got 25K on the car....
I'm looking at http://www.raceshopper.com/ to get possibly get the Hawk Pads (HB268) and the Powerslot Rotors (507)...
is anyone on the .Org already running the combo?
I'm plan sticking with my stock wheels, but I'd like the brakes to last and grip longer....

I am debating whether to go with the looks of the cross drilled or the supposedly better choice of slotted. Or do I just stay cheap and turn the existing OEM rotors?

I have the Stillen Xdrilled and the Axxis Pads. I'm not tremendously impressed. After about 3,000 miles I had a loud groan whenever I braked hard. I road them that way for about 15k miles and the had the rotors turned very slightly. After that the groaning noise subsided, but after another 8k miles the rotors are beginning to warp. I might try something different the next time.

Get the HP+ pads, they're much better than the Axxis Crummymasters

Are you talking about just brembo blanks? If so, why no just turn the OEM ones?

With the excellent porterfield R4-S and Hawk pads available, why would someone go with the mass-marketed/distributed metal-master garbage?

Does brembo not have CD rotors for the 5th gen if they are only blanks then stick OEMs. I personally want to get the Wilwood 4piston brake setup up front (dont have the link )
I think they run like $1200 which isnt bad considering what stillen asks for their big brake kit I know your talking about just the rotors, im just saying what Im thinkin of getting

Edit-Baffler_03se: I agree with you on the pads, I never personally liked those metal matrix pads from stillen, they look kinda cheap to begin with anyway.
