monday morning while driving my 2k auto (72k miles) se on the highway
i smelled plastic/electrical burning and lost all power.
i had electric but could not turn over engine, just got a clicking
noise. Car towed to local mech and the thought it was altenator
but it wasnt. i then had car taken to dealer and they spent last night and today trying to figure out problem. the car will start but it dies when it is put into gear. They replaced air take valve (??) and told me that the scanner was showing many codes indicating many problems. they also told me that the computer (ECM) was fried but they were hopeful that this could be covered under warranty (Factory)
the mechanic is going to report the problem and get authorization to replace ecm. Questions -- Anyone know what happened ? Am I in trouble? If and when this gets fixed, do i still want this car?
Are there any bulletins about the A/C getting clogged and leaking on the computer and ruining it? i love my max and can't afford a big problem. Can anyone offer any comments or suggestions? THANKS.
