Perf info on the 20th Anniv 227hp 5spd
Who's got the info? I just picked up a 20th Anniversary SE 5spd and I want to know what the car should be able to do stock. 0-60? 1/4 mile? One of the Nissan guys out in Bellevue, WA was touting a mid-14s 1/4 mile??? I'm curious...I can't find any info on this version of the Maxima...I know its only a 5hp boost, but just want to know if there are any numbers on it yet.
Plus, anybody know what the overall changes were to the 20th Anniv. From what I can tell, its just a different muffler/exhaust from the cat. back other than the cosmetic differences.

Limited slip differential, a very important feature when you drive it in the rain the first time.
227 hp goes without saying
Upgraded wheel cosmetics
Upgraded Auto shifter, God Bless the 5spd
Aluminum pedals
Door sill plates
I think the leather is perforated if you got leather
Body kit, Sweet
Engine cover upgrade
Good Buy on your part. Welcome to the 5th Gen club.

Thanks.
I didn't know about the limited slip...is that only on the auto, though??? I have the manual. Any other significant technical changes anybody knows about?
I knew about the cosmetic diffs, obviously...since their fairly visible.

Congrats on a nice car. I don't like those quasi chrome wheels myself...when thinking about trading mine for a 2K1 I was gonna keep my wheels and put the 2k1 wheels on the 2K. Other than that though its all good.
I would daresay the performance is the exact same as the 2K SE. It only has 5 more HP and has more weight (body kit). Just my opinion though.

Yeah, the first thing my girlfriend said when she saw it was, "You need new wheels." I guess she wasn't a fan either.
I prefer the soft tone alloys to the all-out chrome wheels, but I still may consider putting a set of rims on the car. Not at this point, though...

Michael,
Congraulation on your new wheels, but someone at Bellevue Nissan was blowing smoke at you when they said mid 14's for the 1/4 mile time. I have to agree with Albertan, the car has 5 additional HP due to the larger capacity center (front) muffler and larger diameter exhaust pipe but it weights more due to the body spoilers. The 1/4 mile time should be the same as the 2000 Maxima because the HP to weight ratio should be almost equal.

The 5sp SE is listed at 3199lbs which puts it at 14.4lbs/horse I'd love to do the math, but it appears that even Nissan doesn't know how much the AE weighs...as it has a big "N/A" on their web site.
Maybe I'll drive through truck weigh station...

All I know is I lived with a 2k SE auto for almost a year and enjoyed everyday with it, with the possible exception of it not being a manual, and being black. This car is quieter and smoother riding, be it the 17” rims, the additional insulation on the trunk, firewall or other additions I’m not aware of. I’m ROTFL at your response, I have spent many hours behind the wheel of both vehicles and I know what I experienced. Thank you, come again.
Most of the "experts" have reviewed the 17s as giving the Maxima a stiffer ride with more road feel, which usually translates to noisier ride. I think car is very well insulated, however, and have no complaints about it. I won't argue with someone who drove both cars ('00 and '01) unless I had done the same.
Are the speed sensitive steering and suspension tuning differences unique to the AE or does the standard SE come so equipped? If so, were the '00 and '01 models of the SE the same in that respect?
